Sunday Morning

I love our church!!! The kids love going and I love the friendships that I have made over the last 6 months. This morning was a little hectic getting everyone out of the house with combed hair and matching clothes but we managed. The minute I set foot in church all of my stress disappeared. It was so nice to walk in and be greeted with familiar faces, hugs and of course COFFEE!!! ( a definite must!) It was our church's one year anniversary and some of our members put together a beautiful slide show documenting our year of growth. I sat back and thanked God again for bringing me to Solid Ground. I looked around at the friends sitting near me and realized that this is a great "home" for our family. I also had a great surprise about 45 minutes into the service when my husband walked in after being on a train since 2 o'clock in the morning. He smelled of train oil and dirt and still had his work boots on, but he was there. Today was a perfect Sunday.

My Boo-boo is hurting me!

I am amazed at the antics that children come up with when they want to avoid going to bed. Tonight I began a debate with Sophie regarding her "Three day old boo-boo." Jay and I had been enjoying a nice evening on our back porch when Sophie explained that she cannot go to bed because her boo-boo hurts. Mind you the "boo-boo" is not visible anymore and is simply a part of her memory but oh how covenient it is that is happens to bother her at bed time.
All of my children have done this at some point. They all seem to come up with some sort of excuse as to why they must stay up later than usual. But guess what? Everyone...it is time to go to bed and time for mommy to relax a bit and enjoy daddy's company.
Ha-ha...I hear snoring in the house...I win!

Absolutely perfect.

I found my quote of the year.

"I'm not lazy. I'm simply judicious about excess movement." Ha-ha! Perfect!!! Thank you Jen Lancaster, you are brilliant!

Eat that Curves!!!

And no, I am not any more motivated to work out now :)

Time to go, I have a chocolate glazed donut with my name on it and it's difficult to type with one hand.

Our baby is one!

Miles A.K.A. "Pork Chop" has officially turned one.
Our day began with breakfast at Coco's and of course an ice cream sundae following his pancakes. (We'll he actually had one spoonful of whipped cream, Sophie ate the sundae). We then ran a few errands to prepare for Miles' birthday party.
Upon arriving home we mowed the lawn and opened the Banzai Sidewinder Waterslide. Here are Pop and Bubba getting ready for the set up:

Bubba wants to know how all of this can fit in one box!

It took a little sweat, but here we go...

Even Pop and Sophie took a few turns!

Soon it was back to work as Pop, Alec and Bryer worked incredibly hard to give our playground a fresh coat of paint. (We did reward them with an impromptu trip to The Big Cheese for dinner.)

Of course when you put three boys into the mix...there's always trouble...

Miles (and I, hee hee) had fun watching. Miles is just so happy being outside.

We cleaned up and all took off for a little pizza and games. Our exhausted Sophie fell asleep in the car on the way home. Pop, Bubba and I placed a candle on the fruit tart that Grandpa Stinky brought over and sang Happy Birthday to our little man. A small tear may have been shed...it's a little hard seeing your youngest turn one. Are you sure that you don't want to do this again Jay? 4 kiddos? I don't think he's convinced.

Happy Birthday to our sweet sweet boy. We love you dearly.

Movie Night Follow-up

I forgot how wonderful that movie is. Oh...it left me feeling dreamy.
1. I want to move to Ireland
2. I am so thankful for my girlfriends.
3. I'm going to bed right now to snuggle with my hubby...man, I love him.

P.S. I Love You

Time for p.j.'s, dim lights and one of my favorite movies. The best part is that Jay loves this movie also. Date night at home...absolute best! Go to bed kiddos!!!
Another plus, this movie has tons of Flogging Molly songs and we're going to see them Sept 30!!!

Workin' 9 to 5

Okay, not really but today it felt like it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you my dear Bri for caring for my children like they are your own and allowing me to come home to a clean house. I cannot thank you enough.

And no I'm not putting any more information about my sitter because one of you fellow mama's might just steal her from me and she's MINE!!! Ha-ha! (Yes, I said that out loud.)

Monday's aren't that bad...

Monday greeted me quite nicely...
The kiddos slept in which I always appreciate.
Everyone got ready without wardrobe issues (thank you Sophie).
We took a trip to Dr. Nate for our chiropractic adjustment which was definitely wonderful.
I saw my oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction follow-up and all is well. I was able to go home without any additional gauze packing. I am so thankful. All three kids came to my appt with me and I must say that I was quite impressed by their behavior. Although, Sophie did befriend an elderly woman named Joyce in the waiting room. Joyce had a wonderful time playing with the children and asked Sophie what her little brother's name was. Sophie replied, "His name is Miles but my Daddy calls him Pork Chopper but really he's a Turd!"
Oh yes, she really did...
We'll try again on Tuesday.

Wisdom Teeth!!!

Okay, so we are now 9 days past my wisdom teeth extraction. I realize now why people have this done when they are 18. It is no fun having to take care of three children and remember when to take Darvocet, Motrin and Amoxicillin. Yes, it also figures that I would get a "dry socket" and end up with nasty complications on one side. I'm a mess. Poor La-la keeps trying to take care of me but usually ends up accidentally hitting me in the mouth while pretending that she is a dentist. I go back on Monday for check-up...we'll see how things are going. This is the worst diet I have ever been on! I just want a steak, burger, anything with some texture!!!

We're Here!

This is our place. We will rant and rave, share our joys and frustrations and live our life. Things seem to change daily around here so I'm sure we will have plenty of info to share. Bubba is even excited to write a bit and share his life experiences. Enjoy!
